Enough wood to notice sets off the spicier though equally earthy aromas of plum, dark pinot fruit and discreet violet nuances. There is very good energy and better refinement if not the same mid-palate density to the palate coating, balanced and youthfully austere finale. Note that this is sufficiently structured to reward a decade plus of cellaring.

If you're looking for a very concentrated and compact red Burgundy for a moderate price, then this one could be for you. Even in the deeply colored context of 2020, this is almost inky dark, but with a vividly youthful violet rim. Brimming with sour-cherry and forest-berry aromas, it has a dense tannin structure for this supposedly light appellation. Really packs a punch at the bold finish, but also impressive freshness.
