A special selection of older-vine Gamay fruit (60+ years) from a lieu-dit called ‘Les Grands Vieres,’ this Fleurie is a picture-perfect example of the elegance and silky texture for which this cru Beaujolais village is best known. Waves of pink and purple flowers, tons of spice, a gorgeous, balanced and juicy core of summer-ripe fruit. The family credits the vineyard’s particularly sandy soils for the wine’s extraordinary texture. Aged in older foudre and bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Aromas of red and black summer berries, purple flowers, baking spices. Medium-bodied and juicy: balanced acidity

VINEYARDS
One of Beaujolais’ most northerly cru appellations, Juliénas is also one of the region’s oldest wine regions, with a history that stretches back more than 2,000 years. (The name Juliénas is derived from Julius Caesar, as vines were grown here during the Gallo-Roman period.) Estate vines are found on soils that are primarily alluvial, with local granite, plus lots of stones and schist (slate).

WINEMAKING: Hand-harvested. Fermented on indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Aged in tank. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
