Lets start with the fun. Soligo is light, fun, pretty, slightly salty (more saline) and a little bit minerally. We love it. Soligo is great for cool weather by the fire. It's great for warm weather on the patio. It's great for making a Tuesday night a whole lot better.

This is a nifty little wine and it made us happy to drink it. On to the hard information...

Cantina Colli del Soligo, a cooperative of growers, was founded in 1957 to meet needs of proseccco makers in the Soligo area. The winery is only 30 miles from Venice in the hills along the "White wine road". The co-op developed quickly with 700 producer members. They produce 65% glera, the primary prosecco grape, and the rest are pinot grigio, chardonnay, merlot cabernet, and pinot nero.

The vineyards are all located between Conegliano, Veneto and Valdobbiadene. All growers work with similar vineyard practices and vine density. The geography runs from the plains up to the steep mountain hillsides. The cool climate and soil add to the acidity and aromas.

Soligo Prosecco Frizzante (light tiny bubbles) is straw yellow with greenish tinges with delicate fruity and flowery overtones, a persistent acidity and a balanced body.
The balance between acidity and natural sugars turn this sparkling wine into a very delicate and intense wine.
