2021 Fuedo Montoni Catarratto Masso Sicilia
Masso is the name of the cru from which the grapes come. The name originates from the block of sandy rock structure with red stones with a high iron component. This strong mineral structure gives the wine particular flavor and freshness.
Shining golden yellow in color with greenish reflections, the nose has delicate notes of bay leaves and mint, orange flowers with citrus hints of lumie, pink grapefruit and freshly cut grass. On the palate it is very fresh and persistent, long aromatic intensity with notes of almonds.

"Crushed almond and oyster shells give way to apricot and lime zest as the 2021 Catarratto Masso slowly comes to life in the glass. This is deeply textural with suave green melon and citrus tones carried by vibrant acidity as a sweet herbal tinge adds further depth toward the close. It finishes long and potent, balanced by a bump of residual acidity as mint and candied lime nuances fade. This is a fully satisfying and, frankly, delicious Catarratto. Drink 2023-2027 (Sep 2023)"

Lemons, honey roasted nuts, stones and bike tire appear on the nose, with a whisper of spicy heat that is confirmed on the palate, where more lemons, and now also limes, grapefruit, white peach and nectarine emerge. A dose of acid sneaks up and provides the energy for a lingering finish. (May 2023)
90 points Wine Spectator: "A lithe and balanced, light- to medium-bodied white, framing ripe Asian pear and nectarine fruit flavors with lightly mouthwatering acidity and hints of elderflower, mineral and honeycomb. Drink now. (Nov 2022)"
