2020 Lyrarakis Vidiano

Exuberant with luscious fruits and wild daisies lead to long length with freshness enhance by its fine minerality.
Vidiano has a pale yellow color. Aromas of apricot and citrus with hints of blooming herbs reveal the rich varietal character of vidiano. The mouthfeel is velvety and full of texture with a strong presence of ripe fruit and minerality in the aftertaste.
Lyrarakis are located in the hillsides (at 440m) of east-central Crete, a little south and east of Heraklion.
Grape Variety: 100% Vidiano, macerated on the skins for 8 hours, then fermented cool in steel tanks, before early bottling.
Producer: Lyrarakis Estate is a family-owned business, started in 1966. It single-handedly 'saved' three indigenous grape varieties (Dafni, Plyto and Melissaki) and also produces other native Greek examples like this and Assyrtiko, the best known of them. Winemaker is Myriam Ambuzer.
