2019 Lange Chardonnay Classique
More than thirty years ago, Don and Wendy Lange founded their winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley. The year 1987 marked the Langes’ first vintage and consisted of the three varietals they embrace today: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. Lange Estate is known for crafting beautifully balanced wines from fruit grown on the winery Estate, located in the heart of the prestigious Dundee Hills appellation.
Pale lemon yellow in the glass, the 2019 Chardonnay Classique is fresh and focused with layered aromas reminiscent of a bright sunny day - dewy pear, yellow apple, and melon lie beneath lighter tones of hawthorn flower, crème fraiche, and honey. The sensory arc of this wine is linear with a bright, mineral-infused spine. Lemon and lime pith converge at the close along with a streak of wet stone and pomace.

A fine value, this is loaded with vivid flavors of grapefruit, apple flesh, apple skin and mixed citrus. It’s tart but not sour, with the sort of steely acidity that makes a great match with shellfish.
