Clos du Saut au Loup is a classic and elegant red wine from the Chinon region of the Loire Valley.

Winegrower Eric Santier makes this fine Cabernet Franc here in his vineyard Clos du Saut au Loup. Full of fresh red fruit, green pepper, violets and black currants and flint.

The Saut au Loup domain (formerly Domaine Dozon) now has 14 hectares of vines, grouped around the historic Saut au Loup enclosure in the Chinon appellation area (AOC). The future of the estate is moving towards the conversion to organic farming initiated in May 2020, for the respect of living things and the expression of the terroirs in the wines.

40/60 years old Cabernet Franc vines on a siliceous clay hillside.
Cold pre-fermentation maceration, long vatting without brutal extraction.
Aged in vats 6/9 months depending on the vintage.
