2017 Lange Estate Winery Reserve Pinot Noir
More than thirty years ago, Don and Wendy Lange founded their winery in the Dundee Hills of Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley. The year 1987 marked the Langes’ first vintage and consisted of the three varietals they embrace today: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Chardonnay. Lange Estate is known for crafting beautifully balanced wines from fruit grown on the winery Estate, located in the heart of the prestigious Dundee Hills appellation.
Our Reserve Pinot Noir is a cuvée that represents the finest barrels in our cellar without any self-imposed rules like site, clone, rootstock, or soil type. Assembled from fruit sourced from our long-time vineyard partners including Freedom Hill, Temperance Hill, Mistletoe, Hirschy, and our own Lange Estate vineyards, this multi-vineyard, multi-dimensional Pinot is crafted to express lush fruit character, seamless balance, and textural elegance. Attractive out of the gate, with enough structure develop for another five years—drink it as a weeknight libation, or share it with family and friends.
The 2017 Reserve Pinot Noir expresses notes redolent of black cherries, marionberries, cinnamon, clove and saddle leather in the bouquet. Juicy tannins frame hints of wood smoke, rosemary, and Oregon strawberries followed by a long, resonant finish.
