2016 Von Winning Deidesheimer Paradiesgarten Reisling
Founded in 1849 in the Pfalz region of Germany, von Winning Winery has been pursuing quality since 1907. That is when Leopold realized that good wine was often better than more wine. Currently run by Stephan Attmann, the winery practices organic farming, ferments in oak barrels and doesn't filter its wine. The goal is to let the grapes do most of the talking.
91 points James Suckling
"A generous wine with plenty of citrus character and a some tannin that, together with the bright acidity, give it some backbone. Drink now or in 2018 and 2019. Screw cap closure."
"A well-rounded white, with a firm structure, offering hints of grapefruit that lead the way to flavors of passion fruit and kumquat. Offers a finish of chamomile and savory mineral notes."
