2016 Stroppiana Langhe Nebbiolo DOC
Langhe Nebbiolo is generally declassified Barolo or Barbaresco. It typically comes from younger vines or vineyards that had a difficult year. Think of it as a "second label" wine, showing hints of a wineries best product, but without all of the characteristics that make the big wines of Piedmont so sought after.
This is a very small family winery. Most of the work is done by Dario and Stefania Stroppiana with the help of their children.
Ruby red with slight garnet hues greet you before the complex and elegant notes of violet and berries with a spicy background. It is smooth and velvety, with a long and persistent finish and nicely modulated tannins.
VINEYARDS: localities of Bussia di Monforte d’Alba and Rivalta di La Morra
ALCOHOL: 14 % vol.
