2016 Raventos La Rosa
Only five years after Columbus set sail for America from Spain, wine production at Raventos I Blanc began as celebration that new markets were opening. The estate has been operated by the Josep-Maria Raventos family since 1984. They specialize in Cava which was first made here in the nineteenth century.
Today, Pepe Raventos, who trained here and in Alsace is making delightful wines of excellent quality. We have long been fans of their Cava's, and now they are making a non-bubbly rose which is delicious. Blended with Pinot Noir, Garnatxa and Xarello the wine is processed in stainless steel.
La Rosa is a fresh and aromatic rose at its most elegant expression. A distinct Mediterranean character with wild fruit, citrus notes and subtle, elegant oral tones bringing clean definition. Captivating and fresh on the palate with delicate yet nice energy.
