2015 Domaine Pere Caboche Cotes du Rhone
In the old times, the Boisson family members had two jobs at once: they were both wine-makers and black-smiths. The name of the estate comes from this second profession, because the nails used to fix the shoe under the horse’s foot are called, in the regional language, “caboche”.
The color is a beautiful ruby red with violet highlights. Expressive on the nose, with jammy red fruits and soft spices. Particularly silky on the mouth, with very fine grain tannins. This wine also shows a very nice freshness. The whole is elegant and pleasing, with a dominating aroma of ripe fruits, black pepper, licorice, and a hint of sage. The finish Is soft and fresh, almost minty.
60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Carignan, 5% Mourvèdre, 5% Cinsault
