2015 Domaine de Nizas Rose
John Goelet was raised in Bordeaux of a very old wine exporting family. He struck out on his own with the desire to create a winery somewhere else in the world. He bought the property now know as Clos du Val in the Napa Valley in 1972 and then moved on to Australia where he started Taltarni. Eager to return to France, he was convinced that Languedoc was a place to make quality wine. He purchased some land in the south of France which was already planted Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre in three very different terroirs. His vision was good once again.
The is a lush and lively wine with a soft rose color with violet hints. Its bouquet develops intense aromas of red fruit, aniseed and violet candy. The palate is smooth and round with strawberry and watermelon flavors. It is well balanced with a lingering finish. It is vibrant, crisp and dry.
