2015 Cap Royal Bordeaux Rouge
The name Cape Royal has its origins in the oldest lighthouse Royal in Europe, formerly called "the Lighthouse of Kings", today called Cordouan. Located at the end of the Medoc peninsula which takes the form of a Cape here, Cordouan proudly watches over the Gironde estuary. Farther up the Gironde is the home of Chateau Pichon Baron, the parent company of Cap Royal.
For the Cap Royal Bordeaux Supérieur, aging in oak barrels brings a slightly woody note and length in the mouth. This careful breeding is carried out under the regular control of Jean-René Matignon. It guarantees quality monitoring throughout this period.
A beautiful deep red dress with purple hues. A very greedy nose revealing aromas of crushed strawberries and black fruits all finely wooded. The attack on the palate is smooth, silky and continues on black fruits and spicy notes of vanilla and black pepper. A royal finale for a wine of great finesse.
70% Merlot - 30% Cabernet Sauvignon
