2014 Ridge Lytton Estate Petite Sirah
Ridge Vineyards had it’s beginning in 1885 when Osea Perrone, a San Francisco doctor bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge. He terraced the slopes and planted the fields and by 1892 produced his first wine. In the 1940’s a handful of Stanford research scientists acquired the property and resurrected it and produced some of the finest wines of the era. They re-bonded the winery in 1962. By the mid-sixties, they were the leaders in Cab and Zinfandel in California.

"The 2014 Petite Sirah Lytton Estate is outstanding. Deep, luscious and intense, but with none of the aggressiveness Petite so often presents, the 2014 is utterly captivating from the very first taste. Dark red and blue-hued stone fruits, mint, spices and licorice are front and center. The purity of the fruit here is simply remarkable. As hard as it may be to believe, the 2014 can be enjoyed on the young side. This is a tremendous wine. Don't miss it! "(AG)
