2014 Jean Claude Credoz Pinot Noir Les Grivettes
Jura is a wine region located between Burgundy and Switzerland. It is a cool climate growing appellation. While Savagnan, Poulsard and Trousseau are the primary grapes of the area, both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are produced there.
Jean Claude Credoz winery is located in the village of Chateau-Chalon which is a tiny appellation where only Savagnan can be planted. Credoz has other varietals that are getting older, but were planted prior to the exclusion rules.
This is clearly a cool weather Pinot Noir with fragrant and pleasant aromas delivered quickly. It is light on the palate with good acidity and cherry, raspberry and a bit of earthiness. This is a delicious and refreshing example of a light Pinot Noir.
