2014 Dr. Klapper Riesling Santa Ynez
Josh Klapper was a sommelier who got bored with selling other peoples wines and set out to learn how to make great wine. After working with a few respected winemakers, he launched his own brand. La Fenetre became a slow steady success, but when he decided to make a Riesling, he wanted a more German sounding name as his wine is made in the Mosel style.
Pale straw color, with a hint of 'spritz' from the cold fermentation, the nose is bright with notes of peach pit, white flowers, and citrus. On the palate, the entry is vibrant with a hint of sweetness. The palate includes green apple, honey suckle, peach pit, and quince. The acidity brings the extremely long finish alive with a chorus of citrus fruit.
