2014 Domaine Vincent Dureuil Janthial Aligote
The Dureuil Janthial family is one of the oldest in the village of Rully, dating back to the 13th Century. The family has always been in the grape growing business. They rely on organic methods and all vineyard work is regulated by the lunar calendar.
For the whites, whole clusters are pressed directly and fermented on indigenous yeasts. Wines are aged in French oak barrels, with no more than 25 percent new oak, depending on the cru. Wines are racked according to the cycles of the moon, and are bottled unfined and unfiltered.
A fresh and exuberantly spicy nose offers up notes of apple, citrus and pear. There is good richness and excellent verve to the delicious, concentrated and nicely textured flavors that deliver fine depth and length for what this is.
