2014 Camigliano Brunello di Montalcino
One of the most famous wines of Italy, Brunello is a terrific expression of the Sangiovese grape. Wine has been produced in the area for thousands of years and for good reason. Brunello is typically only produced in favorable years, when the elements have been generally cooperative. Since they are uncontrollable, the sun, wind and rain are given wide lattitude. Wines labeled Brunello also must follow some rules: 100% Sangiovese grapes, 2 years aged in oak and a minimum of 5 years of age since harvest.
A wealth of fruit yet the wine remains fresh and vivid with blueberry and black cherry character. Some bark and dried earth. Full body, integrated tannins and a flavorful finish.
The elegance and harmonic body of the wine permit its combination with many complex and complicated dishes such as red meat, feathered and furry game. Brunello is also excellent with cheeses, especially parmesan and Tuscan pecorino. Because of its characteristics, Brunello is also a pleasant meditation wine.

Very beautiful and perfumed with floral and fresh cherry character. Medium-bodied, silky and creamy with a lovely finish.
