2014 Brochet Sauvignon Blanc Val de Loire
This wine goes straight to the essence of Sauvignon Blanc. Piercing, lush fruit flavors including apple, guava, kiwi and passion fruit are pinned with lots of lemony acidity. From the southern Loire (Poitou), this Sauvignon is drier and more mineral than those from southern
France. Domaine Ampelidae (from Greek 'Ampelos' meaning vine) was created by current winemaker Frédéric Brochet who inherited some vines from his father back in the 1990's. Frédéric always had a passion for wine, and experimented with his first cuvée at the age of 11!
Nowadays, quite the scientist, with a PHd in Oenology, he also respects tradition, and strives to produce exciting, contemporary wines from
lesser known terroir.
