2013 Conte Vistarino Pinot Nero Costa del Nero
Conte Vistarino has been held by the same family for 1000 years. They have been making wine for many of those centuries as well as growing other crops. In the northern Italy between Alto Adige and Piemonte, they focus on only a few wines. All of them quite delightful.
Costa del Nero means “the black’s summit of a hill” referring to the part of the estate usually regarded as the best for vineyards. The nose has a rich appealing, fresh, wide scent of Pinot Nero softly refined in oak. The palate is delightful and smooth with a medium bodied well balanced and long mineral finish. It has strength and harmony at the same time.
