2013 Chacewater Black Label Krev Malbec
Krev is a Cornish word meaning strong, powerful or robust.
The soils at Cougar Ridge are composed largely of Collayomi-Aiken-Whispering Complex. Included therein are a number of intricately mixed components including boulders, stones, gravels, brown reddish very gravely loam, reddish brown clay loam, reddish yellow gravelly loam and yellowish red very cobbly clay loam.
Ripe blackberries, black currants and fig melt into leather, cedar and tobacco on the extremely rich mid palate. The highly extracted fruit characters are carried very graciously to a soft, but well structured, velvety tannic finish.
