Andy Graef began by making wine in his garage. In 2011, he found a pair of partners who wanted to help him produce and sell more wine. The 2012 vintage is the first for sale from Graef Wine although he had been sharing his passion with friends for ten years.

This wine brings together complex notes of black pepper and violets, and a remarkable depth of dark stone fruit along with soft tannins and a long finish that completes the palate.

TAWC Notes:
Elegant and restrained, the 2012 has more in common with Crozes-Hermitage than most of its California cousins. For us, that means a lot of love. This has notes of cherry and hints of tobacco. Many a CA Syrah has very high alcohol and this one comes in on the low side. A wonderfully enjoyable bottle.

From The Winery:
This 2012 Syrah may very well be our benchmark. It brings together complex notes of black pepper and violets, and a remarkable depth of dark stone fruit along with soft tannins and a long finish that completes the palate. After two winters in French oak, this Syrah was bottled in April 2014. Accessible now (and delicious), the wine promises to improve for another ten years.
