2005 Bruno Giacosa Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba
$ 249.00
Bruno Giacosa produces traditionally styled Barolo, attempting to evoke memories of vintages past. He believes in doing as little as possible to the wine, preferring to let the grapes speak for themselves. His Le Rocche del Faletto vineyard has great soil, great sun and a particularly good microclimate for producing outstanding grapes.
Another high-scoring wine from Bruno with a 94 from Stephen Tanzer, a 92 from Wine Spectator and 17.5 from Jancis Robinson. This wine is expected to mature somewhere between 2015 and 2025.
Garnet red color with orange reflections. Ample and complex bouquet with notes recalling truffle and licorice. In the mouth it feels dry, full and velvety, unfolding a great personality.
