2019 Vadiaperti Fiano di Avellino
$ 20.99
Fiano is a fabulous indigenous grape that thrives in the village of Avellino in the southern Italian region of Campania. This top-notch example from the tiny family-owned producer Vadiaperti is a complete home-run, delivering crisp, high-toned acidity, salty minerality and invigorating grapefruit and lemon flavors.
Fiano di Avellino by Vadiaperti is an experience of rare territoriality. The company Vadiaperti was one of the first winery to bottle his Fiano in the first half of the eighties, and now stands in a high position in national and Campania wine scene. The history of the winery begins with Antonio Troisi, professor of history and, for this reason, a great connoisseur of ancient Mediterranean origins of viticulture; right with him, in fact, the company began to bottle wine, after having been for years one of the most important importers of Italian wine in the United States. From that first bottle, everything changed, and Vadiaperti began a path always played on the stylistic consistency, never chase the fashions of the time. Today the head of the company passed into the hands of Raffaele, the son of Antonio, who raised the production firmly in the nineties, insisting in the search of flavor and freshness. The main body of vineyards stretching around the cellar, on the hill Montefredane, just near the provincial capital; grapes of Fiano are brought to life on a clay soil that gives depth of juice and intensity of flavor. A wine that best represents how good this grape is able to offer to our palate.
