Chatelain make exemplary, archetypal wines from vineyards planted on a mixture of on flint, chalk and, predominantly, Kimmeridgean clay soils. The wine is really made in the vineyard, as naturally as possible, and with little intervention in the winery. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled steel tanks, the wines are further aged sur lie in tank to enhance intensity, richness and terroir character, bottling takes place in Spring following the vintage.

Since 1630, the family works day by day the land of the hillsides of Pouilly sur Loire. 300 years later, André Chatelain offered his wine abroad and built the foundations of our international reputation. The 12th generation Châtelain now manages the estate on 30 hectares of vines in Pouilly Fumé AOC, spread over 6 communes out of 7 of the appellation.

Elegant, rich and intensely aromatic nose. Reminiscent of ripe lemon, grapefruit, characteristic flint and blackcurrant flowers and lively green fruit.

Geology of the soil: Selection of 80% clay-limestone + 20% clots from the communes of Verdigny, Sury-en-Vaux, Chavignol.
Visual aspect: White, bright green gold.
