2017 Quinta Sardonia Castilla Y Leon Sardon Red
An organic and biodynamic estate lying immediately west of Ribera del Duero, Quinta Sardonia produces Sardon from a blend of Tempranillo, Garnacha, and white Albillo grapes, with just a tiny portion of Cabernet blended in.
The wines are fermented and aged in a variety of vessels: used barrels, stainless steel tank, concrete eggs.
It shows terrific freshness to its poised, dark-skinned fruit flavors, and perhaps resembles a very well made, younger Ribera del Duero from a top producer within the Burgos province more than it does a wine from the more proximate vineyards belonging to the commune of Valladolid.
