Mason Cellars was founded in Oakville, California in 1993 by Randy and Megan Mason. Randy had been making wine in the Valley for many years when he struck out on his own with Mason Sauvignon Blanc. That led him to become a Sauvignon Blanc house so he launched Pomelo, a fun and playful spin on SB, in 2004.

Pomelo's grapes are sourced primarily from Lake County that has an elevation of nearly 1400 feet with maritime fog blanketing the night time. The growing season is long, with ample hours of sunshine and great diurnal temperature fluctuations - all responsible for the explosive flavors found in Pomelo.

We found this wine bright and engaging with delicious flavors of passion fruit, guava, quince, lime peel; with an intensely grapefruit nose. Light-bodied, with an influence of citrus, fresh grass and herb, which gives it some personality and energy.
