Gerardo Giuratrabocchetti and his wife Marcella founded Cantine del Notaio in 1998. After spending 16 years in agrarian academia, he wanted to get his hands dirty again. We are grateful he moved from the theoretical to the actual, because this juice is delicious.

From the volcanic Mt. Vulture area of Italy's Basilicata region comes this rich and spicy Aglianico, aged in French barrique for a year.

"Impenetrable garnet ruby red. Very elegant to the nose, [reminicent] of marasca with spicy and liquorice notes. Rich, full with remarkable cherry notes and a marasca ending lightly spiced. Tannins are soft and pleasant."
