Yes! There really is such a thing as inexpensive Bordeaux! Dark garnet color with aromas or red fruits, elaborated in a modern style, this wine is supple and charming with a nice mid-palate. Situated in the commune of Romagne, Château de Virecourt was the first property to enamour Bernard Ducourt, who bought it with the help of his father Henri in 1971. The vineyard landscape is relatively hilly, with the Dordogne and Garonne rivers having carved out many valleys in the area. The property has a loamy-clay terroir and good exposer to the sun, allowing for good ripening. Situated in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region, a step away from the Benedictine Abbey of La Sauve Majeure, Château Virecourt Conté is deliciously supple, with particularly expressive fruit characters. Oenologist : Jérémy Ducourt France, Bordeaux, Entre-Deux-Mers 84% Merlot Noir, 16% Cabernet Franc
