2012 Les Fiefs de Lagrange Saint Julien
Chateau Lagrange has been around, in some flavor of it's current iteration, since the 1631's. The land suggests that wine The second wine of the property was established in 1985.
It comes from vines that average 30 years old today and planted on gravelly soils for fine Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot for some clay. Les Fiefs de Lagrance receives the same care as the Grand Vin, with a search for maturity and concentration in the vineyard, a plot vinification and aging adapted to its tannic structure.
The wine is characterized by round tannins, aromas of red and black fruits on his youth and still shows good potential.
From the winery:
A beautiful expression of Cabernet Sauvignon in this 2012 vintage, fruity notes of cassis, licorice, pepper and mocha. There’s a lot of freshness and roundness in these Fiefs that make the main characteristics of the vintage. With an average age of 32 years old vines, this delicious wine, surprising in its elegance, can be enjoyed now but will amaze you with its aging potential (2015-2027).
