2015 K Vintners Milbrandt Syrah
Lots of Reviews:
RP92 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Rich and dramatic, the 2015 Syrah Milbrandt Vineyard bursts with lavish aromas of ripe black cherries, licorice, dark chocolate and sweet herbs. On the palate, it's full-bodied and ripe, with a broad, textural attack underpinned by fine-grained, somewhat chewy tannins that I suspect will always lend it a somewhat rustic profile this vintage. Generous and flavorful, with an ample endowment of fruit, follow it for the better part of a decade.

From the Northridge and Clifton Hills Vineyard (both on the Wahluke Slope) brought up in 30% new puncheons, the 2015 Syrah Milbrandt offers a complex, nuanced style in its lavender, green olive, blackcurrants, and smoked herbs aromas and flavors. It's medium to full-bodied, has plenty of tannins, and will benefit from short-term cellaring. (4/2018)

Bright medium ruby. Musky black cherry and licorice aromas are lifted by a rocky mineral element. In a penetrating, cooler, savory style, with its dark fruit flavors complicated by a note of Espelette pepper. Not a particularly sweet style of Syrah but wonderfully aromatic and primary, with a strong tannic spine that will require time to soften. This serious, very long wine of terroir leaves behind a violet quality. (ST) 92+ (10/2017)
