Valentino Sciotti (of Vesevo, Gran Sasso and other Farnese estates) took over this small co-operative in Basilicata in Acerenza in the heart of the Aglianico del Vulture zone in 2008. Consultant winemaker Alberto Antonini works with Manuel Barbone, and together they manage to capture the character of the grapes and the zone superbly in the bottle.

Vigneti del Vulture “Pipoli” Aglianico del Vulture DOC is an intense deep ruby red with an ample nose showing notes of sour cherry, candied fruit, aromatic herbs and hints of vanilla and thyme. Exceptional and powerful almost regal personality, with warm elegant undertones of spice and cream. This is a wine with marked minerality and flavor and extraordinary balance and drinkability.
